So now I'm over 50 which can bring with it a change in lifestyle, health and perspective.
I must say that I feel great, having made some positive changes in my eating habits and exercise routine already. Most people say that I don't look my age and are amazed when they discover it; and actually I feel ... 21. Yes, that's right, I feel even much more younger than I look.
So I was a bit surprised at the results of a hearing test which revealed hearing loss in both ears. What??? Okay, okay ... I know that I have to ask people to repeat themselves and my husband and I have had the cute argument over him needing to speak louder and for him to stop mumbling his words. Now, flashback - my grandfather wore a hearing aid and my grandmother never admitted that she needed one. Lol... hmm...
But, this I recall to my mind as I place my trust in the forever sure Word of God which says - "The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made even both of them." Proverbs 20:12
I like the New Living Translation which says "Ears to hear and eyes to see--both are gifts from the Lord" because it reminds me that "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1:17
Finally, Young's Literal Translation says "A hearing ear, and a seeing eye, Jehovah hath made even both of them." Oh yes! His name is Jehovah Rapha - The Lord Who Heals Me.
Now. Am I waiting for God to heal me? No sir, I already am. Isaiah 53:5 says that Jesus was wounded for my transgressions, bruised for my iniquities; the chastisement of my peace was upon Him and by his stripes I am healed. 1 Peter 2:24 confirms it; by whose stripes I was healed.
So I pray - "Thank you Lord that you have given me hearing ears and seeing eyes and that you have not changed your mind. I receive them now in the name of Jesus and ask that you touch my ears and eyes, restoring them back to the way that you created them. Thank you that the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me and quickens my mortal body. I receive the restoration of my hearing and sight by faith and praise you in advance for the natural evidence confirming my testimony of healing. In Jesus Name -- Amen
